Applied for a UK visa from Pakistan? Check your application status the right way using your GWF or UAN reference number through VFS Global, your UKVI account, or UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). Clear, honest guidance from EasyVisa.pk.
Once you submit your application and give biometrics, your file enters the UKVI decision queue. Here is what UK visa tracking from Pakistan can and cannot tell you.
The official partner that handles UK visa submissions in Pakistan. Its online tracker shows where your passport physically sits received, under process, or ready for collection.
The digital account you created when applying. It confirms submission and a decision being made, and is now where you access your eVisa once approved.
The Home Office department that decides your case. If you are beyond published times, you can raise a paid status enquiry through GOV.UK.
Every method needs your application reference number and usually your last name. Most Pakistani applicants start with VFS Global.
Lost your reference number? Find it in your confirmation email, payment receipt, UKVI account, or by contacting your VFS Global centre. Preparing to apply? Review the documents required for a visa first.
According to GOV.UK, your application number is "a Global Web Form (GWF) or a Unique Application Number (UAN)."
Open the official VFS Global Pakistan UK page and select 'Track Your Application'.
Enter your GWF or UAN reference number and your surname exactly as applied.
View your current stage received, under process, or ready for collection.
Optionally enable VFS Global's paid SMS and email alerts for automatic updates.
Collect your passport from the VFS centre or receive it by courier after a decision.
VFS Global tracking tells you where your documents are. It does not show the Home Office's internal assessment of your case.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Received / Submitted | Your application and documents are in the system, awaiting review. |
| Under process | Your case is being reviewed by UKVI. No action needed unless you are contacted. |
| Decision made | UKVI has reached an outcome this does not tell you approved or refused. |
| Ready for collection | Your passport has been returned to the VFS centre for pickup or courier. |
The critical point: "Decision made" is not the same as "approved." The result is communicated separately through your UKVI account, email, or when you collect your passport.
Anyone promising live, detailed UK visa tracking from Pakistan is overstating what the system offers. Knowing this saves you from constant, anxious portal-refreshing.
~3 weeks
Most visit, work, and study visas, decided after biometrics.
~5 working days
A faster decision for an additional fee.
Next working day
The quickest route, usually by end of the next business day.
Settlement and family applications take longer often 12 weeks or more. Times vary with visa type, demand, and case complexity. Confirm current figures on the official GOV.UK processing times guidance and check the latest UK visa fees in PKR. Use our visa cost & eligibility calculator to plan ahead.
If you are within the published processing window for your visa type, a static status is normal. UKVI does not update the tracker daily.
For Priority or Super Priority, the faster clock starts after your biometrics appointment not at online submission.
Beyond the published timeframe? Raise a paid enquiry through GOV.UK with your reference number. Replies take a couple of working days.
