An Umrah package for family from Pakistan has to work for everyone in the group at once: a baby who still naps twice a day, a teenager excited about the Haram, a mother or sister who may be travelling without her husband, and grandparents who cannot walk seven rounds of Sa’i on a hot afternoon. Choosing the package is not only about the price per person. It is about the right rooms, the right hotel distance, the right documents for each child and the right help inside the two Holy Mosques.

This guide explains what a good Umrah package for family should include, the current Saudi rules for children, infants and women, the free wheelchair and cart services at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi, how to pick family hotels in Makkah and Madinah, and a calm 10-day plan. The visa itself is covered step by step in our Umrah visa from Pakistan guide; here we summarise it and focus on travelling as a family. Rules were re-checked on official Saudi and Pakistani government pages on 27 October 2026.

Umrah Package for Family from Pakistan: What It Must Include

Umrah package for family - Pakistani family with grandparents and children arriving with luggage at their Makkah hotel entrance at night

Every Umrah visa for a Pakistani passport holder is tied to a package: a hotel booking and a transport booking that qualify through Saudi Arabia’s official Nusuk system. Without that booking there is no visa, so the package is the foundation of the whole trip (the documents and steps are listed in our Umrah visa requirements guide). For a single pilgrim almost any clean room near a shuttle stop will do. An Umrah package for family needs more thought, because one wrong choice affects five or six people for ten days.

Before you compare offers, check that the package clearly states these points:

  • Visas for every traveller. Each person, including an infant, receives their own Umrah visa and is covered by the mandatory Saudi medical insurance. The SAR 300 government fee applies per person.
  • Room type and sleeping plan. Ask for the exact room type (double, triple, quad or connecting rooms) and how many beds it really has. A “quad” with two double beds is very different from four single beds.
  • Distance to the Haram. Ask for walking metres to the nearest gate, not “near Haram”. With children and elders, distance matters more than stars.
  • Nights split. How many nights in Makkah and how many in Madinah, and which city comes first.
  • Transport. Airport transfers, the Makkah to Madinah leg (coach, private car or Haramain train) and whether a car seat or extra luggage space is possible.
  • Meals. Breakfast only, or half board. Children eat at odd hours, so a hotel close to food courts helps.
  • Flights. Whether flights are included, and the baggage allowance per child and infant.

Easy Visa handles your Umrah visa and the Nusuk hotel and transport package as one file for the whole family, so names, passport numbers and room sharing all match. For a full rupee breakdown of flights, hotels and transport, see our Umrah cost from Pakistan guide; this article focuses on what makes a package family friendly rather than on prices.

Umrah with Children and Infants: Passports, Permits and Age Rules

Umrah with baby - young Pakistani parents with a baby in a soft carrier and a folding stroller resting in a shaded Masjid al-Haram colonnade

Children are welcome on Umrah, and the right Umrah package for family makes their days easier. The official Nusuk FAQ answers the question “Are children allowed to perform Umrah?” with a simple yes, and it also confirms that children’s strollers are allowed inside the Grand Mosque in Makkah. What changes with children is the paperwork and the pace.

Passports for children from Pakistan

Every child needs their own Pakistani passport; children are not added to a parent’s passport. Pakistan’s Directorate General of Immigration and Passports asks for these documents for a minor:

  • Under 10: the original Child Registration Certificate (CRC, commonly called the B-Form) or a Family Registration Certificate (FRC).
  • Age 10 and above: an updated CRC with photograph and fingerprints, or a Juvenile Card.
  • Original CNICs or passports of both parents, and one parent (or a court-appointed guardian) must accompany the child.
  • If parents are separated or divorced, custody papers or the other parent’s consent on attested stamp paper.

Passports for children under 15 are issued with five-year validity, so check the expiry date of each child’s passport well before you book. Apply early if a baby has no passport yet, because the B-Form must be made first.

Nusuk Umrah permits by age

Inside Saudi Arabia, everyone needs a free Umrah permit from the Nusuk app before going to Masjid al-Haram for Umrah. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has said that permits are issued from age five, and children under five do not need a permit. In practice, the parent who holds the Nusuk account adds children aged five and over as companions when booking the time slot.

Babies and toddlers

  • Vaccines. Saudi Arabia requires at least one polio dose for every traveller arriving from Pakistan, regardless of age, and meningitis ACYW vaccination at least 10 days before arrival. Timing for children is explained in our Umrah vaccination requirements guide.
  • Strollers and carriers. A light folding stroller is useful in the wide courtyards; a soft baby carrier is easier in crowded Tawaf.
  • Childcare points. According to Nusuk, the Grand Mosque has a children’s nursery in the third Saudi expansion opposite Gates 100 and 104. In Madinah, the Prophet’s Mosque has a Children’s Hospitality Center on the northern side near Gates 339 to 340.
  • Lost children. Write your phone number and hotel name on a wristband for every young child. If a child is lost, go to the nearest security officer; in Madinah the main Lost Children Care Center is at the Al-Baqi wall opposite gate 354.

Women Travelling for Umrah: Current Rules Without a Mahram

Pakistani mother in her 50s and her two adult daughters in modest abayas walking together in the Prophet's Mosque courtyard in Madinah at night

Many families now plan Umrah where the women travel together, or where a mother travels with her daughters while the father stays at work in Pakistan. Saudi rules allow this. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah states that a woman may come to perform Umrah without a mahram, and current Saudi guidance applies this to women of all ages. Older rules that asked women to travel with a male guardian or to join an organised group no longer apply, and a notarised no-objection letter from a husband, son or brother is no longer required.

What this means for a family booking:

  • Each woman gets her own visa with the same package documents as any other pilgrim, so an all-women group can book one Umrah package for family members together.
  • Room plans still matter. If three women share a room, ask for a triple with three real beds and a hotel with a short, well-lit walk to the Haram gate, especially for late-night prayers.
  • Ihram for women. The Ministry’s Umrah guide says a woman enters ihram in any permissible, modest clothing she chooses, without adornment. There is no special white uniform requirement. At the end, women shorten a small amount of hair; they do not shave.
  • Rawdah visits. In Madinah, men and women have separate Rawdah time slots, and both are booked as a free permit in the Nusuk app, where you can also select your companions. Slot times change during the season, so check them in Nusuk before you plan the day.

Some families still prefer that a male relative travels with elderly women. That is a personal choice, not a visa rule. If a woman in your group has a medical condition, carry her doctor’s note and medicines in original packaging, as Nusuk advises for all pilgrims.

Umrah for Elderly Parents: Wheelchairs, Carts and Pacing

Umrah wheelchair and cart help - elderly Pakistani mother riding a staff-driven golf cart in the Masjid an-Nabawi courtyard with her daughter walking beside her

For many Pakistani families choosing an Umrah package for family, the main reason for the trip is to take parents or grandparents for Umrah while they are still able to travel. Both Holy Mosques now have strong services for elderly pilgrims and wheelchair users, and knowing them in advance turns a tiring day into a manageable one.

Wheelchairs and carts at Masjid al-Haram

  • Free manual carts. Nusuk lists free carts at the eastern courtyard (mass-transport entrance), the southern courtyard next to the King Abdulaziz Waqf, and the western courtyard at the Shubaikah entrance.
  • Electric carts. These carry a fee and are picked up at points such as the Ajyad bridge to the first floor and the Shubaikah bridge. On 20 October 2026 the Saudi Press Agency reported that the General Authority’s unified mobility platform lets visitors book Tawaf and Sa’i transport online, including free carts for those who qualify, electric carts and staff-pushed manual carts.
  • Golf carts. Free golf carts move elderly pilgrims and people with special needs around the courtyards.
  • Where wheelchairs go. The Ministry’s Umrah guide says the first and second floors are designated for Tawaf by wheelchair and electric cart, and they are not allowed in the ground-level Mataf courtyard. Ajyad Bridge is set up for wheelchair access.

Nusuk says there are more than 5,000 regular carts and about 3,000 electric carts, but waiting times rise at peak prayer times. Go for Tawaf after Fajr or late at night, when the upper floors are calmer.

Wheelchairs at Masjid an-Nabawi

The Prophet’s Mosque Services Guide says wheelchairs are lent free of charge from offices near external gate 344 on the eastern side and gates 308 to 309 on the southern side, near the Zamzam fountain. About 2,500 carts are lent free, golf carts are driven by mosque staff, and there are ramped prayer areas for people with disabilities. Elderly visitors may also enter the Rawdah by wheelchair under the mosque’s rules.

Pacing for older pilgrims

  • Plan one main ritual per day: Umrah on day one or two, then lighter days of prayer and rest.
  • Bring a light folding wheelchair from home if your parent uses one daily; it saves waiting at busy points.
  • Carry a list of medicines, prescriptions and a doctor’s note. Saudi Arabia asks travellers over 65 and people with chronic illness to show COVID-19 vaccination proof.
  • Book a room on a lower floor or close to the lifts; queues for hotel lifts after each prayer can be long.

Choosing Family Hotels in Makkah and Madinah

The hotel is the part of an Umrah package for family that you feel every single day. A good choice lets children nap between prayers and lets elders return to the room without a long walk. A poor choice means hot walks, crowded shuttles and tired tempers.

Hotel optionBest forWatch out for
Walking distance (about 0 to 400 metres from a Haram gate)Elders, babies, families who want to return between prayersHigher price; smaller rooms; long lift queues after prayers
Short walk (about 400 to 900 metres)Fit adults with older childrenUphill streets in parts of Makkah; heat in the afternoon
Shuttle hotels (further away)Budget-focused families with no mobility issuesShuttle timings around prayers; hard with strollers and wheelchairs

Family-friendly points to ask about:

  • Real room capacity. Quad rooms, connecting rooms or a suite if the group has more than four people. Ask whether a baby cot is available.
  • Lifts and floor. Lower floors or rooms near the lifts for grandparents.
  • Food nearby. Makkah’s central area and the Clock Tower complex have many food outlets; in Madinah, hotels around the central area put food courts a short walk away.
  • Split by city. Many families spend fewer nights in Makkah, close to the Haram, and more nights in Madinah, where hotels near the Prophet’s Mosque are often easier to walk for elders.

Every hotel in the package must be a booking that qualifies through Nusuk; private bookings made separately cannot replace it for the visa. Easy Visa arranges the qualifying hotels and transport in your Umrah package for family, together with the visas, so you can choose by distance and room type without worrying about the visa rules.

A 10-Day Family Umrah Plan from Pakistan

Ten days is the most common length for an Umrah package for family from Pakistan: long enough for rest days, short enough for school or work leave. A 14-day plan follows the same pattern with extra Madinah nights.

Flights for a family

Direct flights link Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and other Pakistani cities with Jeddah and Madinah. PIA, airblue, AirSial and Fly Jinnah list these routes, and Saudi carriers fly them too. Most airlines seat one lap infant under two with each adult and give a child seat from age two, so a family with two babies needs two adults on the same booking. If you are comparing Saudia seats for the family, Saudia’s airline profile on IATA.co explains its SV code and Jeddah hub, which helps when you read a booking with several flight numbers. Choose a daytime flight if you travel with small children and elders, and keep medicines and baby food in hand luggage.

Day by day

  • Day 1: Fly to Jeddah and enter ihram. Men change into ihram before boarding or on the plane before the Miqat; women wear modest clothes. Transfer to your Makkah hotel and rest.
  • Day 2: Umrah. Perform Umrah after Fajr or late at night when it is cooler. Book Nusuk permits for everyone aged five and over, and arrange a wheelchair or electric cart for elders in advance.
  • Days 3 to 5: Makkah. Prayers at the Haram, rest in the afternoon, a short family ziyarat to Jabal al-Nour or Masjid Aisha if elders are comfortable.
  • Day 6: Travel to Madinah. By coach or car included in your package, or the Haramain High-Speed Train. Madinah’s train station is about 9 km from the Prophet’s Mosque, with shuttle buses.
  • Days 7 to 9: Madinah. Prayers at Masjid an-Nabawi, Rawdah permits through Nusuk, Quba Mosque and the Children’s Hospitality Center for little ones.
  • Day 10: Fly home from Madinah. Flying out of Madinah avoids a long road trip back to Jeddah.

Family Umrah Package Checklist and Common Mistakes

Use this list before you pay for any Umrah package for family travel, and again the week before departure.

Documents for each traveller

  • Passport valid for at least six months, with each child on their own passport.
  • CNIC copies for adults and B-Form or FRC copies for children, so relationships are easy to show.
  • Recent passport photos on a white background.
  • Vaccination records, including polio for every family member and meningitis ACYW.
  • Printed copies of the visas, hotel and transport bookings, and return tickets.

Packing for children and elders

  • A folding stroller or baby carrier, wristbands with phone numbers, and a small bag of snacks.
  • Comfortable walking shoes, light cotton clothes and a shawl for air-conditioned mosques.
  • Medicines in original packaging, prescriptions and a doctor’s note.
  • Ihram sets for men and boys, plus a spare set.

Mistakes that make family Umrah harder

  • Booking on price alone. A cheap shuttle hotel can cost more in taxis and energy than a closer room.
  • Forgetting a child’s passport expiry. Five-year child passports run out sooner than parents expect.
  • Not checking the sleeping plan. A “family room” with one double bed is not enough for five.
  • Planning two rituals in one day. Umrah, a long ziyarat and a late-night Tawaf in one day will exhaust elders and children.
  • Mixing up visit and Umrah visas. If you hold a Saudi visit visa, read our Saudi visit visa guide and the Saudi visa types for Pakistanis page before you book.

Umrah Package for Family: FAQs

What should an Umrah package for family include?

Umrah visas and Saudi medical insurance for every traveller, Nusuk-qualifying hotels in Makkah and Madinah with the right room type, airport and intercity transport, and clear walking distance to the Haram. Flights and meals may or may not be included, so check.

Can I take my baby for Umrah?

Yes. Babies need their own passport and Umrah visa, and every traveller from Pakistan needs a polio dose regardless of age. Children under five do not need a Nusuk Umrah permit, and strollers are allowed in the Grand Mosque.

Can women go for Umrah without a mahram?

Yes. Saudi Arabia allows women to perform Umrah without a mahram. A mother can travel with her daughters, or women can travel together, on their own visas.

Is there wheelchair service for Umrah?

Yes. Free manual wheelchairs and carts are available at both Holy Mosques, golf carts help elders in the courtyards, and electric carts can be booked for a fee. Wheelchair Tawaf takes place on the upper floors.

How many days is best for a family Umrah?

For most families, a 10-day Umrah package for family travel works well, with four or five nights in Makkah and four or five in Madinah. Families with elders or babies often prefer 14 days with more rest days.

How much does an Umrah package for family of 4 cost?

It depends on season, hotel distance and flights. Visa and insurance are charged per person, while rooms can be shared. Our Umrah cost guide breaks the PKR budget down, and Easy Visa can quote your exact dates.

Can Easy Visa guarantee our Umrah visas?

No. Saudi authorities decide every visa, and no honest consultant can promise the outcome. Easy Visa handles your Umrah visa and package, checks every family member’s documents and keeps the file consistent so it is ready the first time.
